GST Return Filing

Monthly and quarterly GST returns prepared from your records, reconciled against GSTR-2B, reviewed and filed before the due date.

Overview

Every GST-registered business files returns, including months with no sales. The two main returns are GSTR-1, which reports your sales, and GSTR-3B, a summary return where you pay the tax due after adjusting input tax credit.

Businesses with turnover up to ₹5 crore can opt for the QRMP scheme and file these returns quarterly while paying tax monthly. An annual return, GSTR-9, summarises the whole year.

Who this is for

Every registered business

Returns are due every period, even when there is nothing to report (a nil return).

Monthly filers

Businesses above ₹5 crore turnover, or those not in QRMP, file GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B monthly.

QRMP filers

Smaller businesses can file quarterly and pay tax monthly through a challan.

Businesses claiming ITC

Input tax credit depends on accurate reconciliation with your suppliers' filings.

How it works

  1. Collect data

You share the month's invoices and statements, or we pull them from your books.

  2. Reconcile

We match your purchases with GSTR-2B so only eligible credit is claimed.

  3. Prepare & review

We prepare GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B and share the tax payable with you.

  4. File & confirm

After payment, we file the returns and send you the acknowledgement.

Common mistakes to avoid

Claiming ITC not in GSTR-2B

Credit that your supplier hasn't reported can be reversed later with interest.

Leaving invoices out of GSTR-1

Your customers lose their input tax credit and may withhold payment.

Filing late

Late fees apply per day for each return, plus interest on tax paid late.

Frequently asked questions

What are the GST return due dates?

For monthly filers, GSTR-1 is due by the 11th and GSTR-3B by the 20th of the following month. QRMP filers file GSTR-1 by the 13th after the quarter and GSTR-3B by the 22nd or 24th, depending on the state. See our compliance calendar.

Do I need to file if I had no sales?

Yes. A nil return must still be filed for every period. Missing it attracts a late fee.

What is the QRMP scheme?

Quarterly Return Monthly Payment. Businesses with turnover up to ₹5 crore can file GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B quarterly while paying tax monthly. Invoices for business customers can be uploaded monthly using IFF.

What is the late fee for GST returns?

Generally ₹50 per day for GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B (₹20 per day for nil returns), subject to a cap, plus 18% annual interest on tax paid late.

Who has to file GSTR-9?

The annual return is due by 31 December after the financial year. It is mandatory for businesses above ₹2 crore turnover; GSTR-9C (reconciliation) applies above ₹5 crore.
