Inside the salon
A quiet room, a proper light, and enough time to handle the piece.
The movement
We look at finishing and at honesty: service marks, rotor wear, whether the movement has been somewhere it should not.
The dial
Originality first. Relumed, reprinted and over-polished pieces are the ones we send back.
The edge
Lugs, bevels and inward angles tell you whether a case has been dressed. We prefer the mark of wear to the mark of a wheel.
